Where have we been?

Well, since my last post, Tommy decided to disable our home wifi so I haven't been able to keep you all updated.  I finally got us back up and running last night, and need to catch you up.  Three weeks ago, Pat & I got all the fence pickets cut.  I made a better router jig, and we got the job done in a couple hours.  I swapped pickets in & out while Pat cut with the router.  Unfortunately, we failed to snap any photos of the work being done.  Pat was covered in about an inch of sawdust at the end - thanks Pat!

I've even got my jigs set up for quick spacing, height, and plumb adjustments, as well as consistent fastener placement.

However, since that weekend, a couple of projects have taken priority, and the fence is back on hold.  The brakes on my truck needed to be replaced which blew a Saturday.  Tommy is now certified on basic brake repair & maintenance, but I failed to get any photos of that either.

Our basement progress was also halted right before the holidays with all the family we hosted, and Katie gently reminded me that we weren't done, and we should wrap it up before our 2nd son arrives in a couple weeks.  Therefore, we spent the last 2 weeks replacing baseboard and prepping for new carpet.  I hired our flooring guys from the hotel, and they did a great job yesterday.

Unfortunately, the shop shorted me a couple yards of carpet, and I measured a little too tight, so we weren't able to finish the job.  They'll have to come back and finish a few stair treads later this week.  Do you like our furniture?  We also took the plunge and finally passed along our college-era futon to someone else who needed it more.  After shopping for some time, we finally bought a real grown-up couch last night which should be delivered in the next couple of weeks.

Katie's fairly uncomfortable right now, but doing well.  We're also busy getting things in order - washing some baby clothes, cleaning up the car-seat, and getting a few newborn supplies stocked up.  We've been talking about it for months now, but Tommy seems more & more aware of his growing family.  We was pretty upset that we got out the carseat last night, and this morning he threw the baby's clothes in the trash.  I'm guessing the T-man has a big adjustment coming up soon!
