A Little R&R

Every 5 years you work for my company you receive a small pin commerating those 5 years, a small personalized gift, and an additional benefit called R&R.  The R&R program is a set # of nights at one of our 7 hotels, all meals and activities included.  This benefit expires on your next 5 year anniversary, when you receive another R&R installment plus an extra night or two.

My 10 year anniversary is in June, so we used my 5 year R&R last weekend at a classic American Resort - SunValley.

Did I mention I now work in Group Sales for my company - call me any time to learn more!

Look quick - here's photographic evidence of my wife!

We got a terrific upgrade to an apartment suite with kitchen, parlor, bedroom, and fireplace.  The upgrade was much appreciated as most of the summer activities weren't open yet - golf, horseback riding, gun club (trap, skeet, and 5-stand), ice-skating, etc.  However, we enjoyed a quiet weekend, some good books, and great food!  We also banked some sleep while we can before Tommy gets here...

The view from our balcony.

The back of the resort - the bleachers are for the ice-rink where ice skating olympians practice all summer.

I call SunValley a classic American resort because it is - it's America's first ski resort, built in 1936 by Union Pacific tycoon Averell Harriman.  The resort has been, and continues to be frequented by celebrities and politicians - much of the history is in the old lodge photos.  Here are a couple of my favorites.

If you've never been, I highly recommend SunValley.  If you have been, you know what I mean!  It was a great, relaxing weekend alone with Katie - probably the last one for a while...
